Colon cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women in the United States. Early detection vastly improves the opportunity for survival. Experts now recommend that colon cancer screenings begin at age 45. Common colon cancer screenings include colonoscopy, FIT testing (fecal immunochemical test) and stool DNA testing (Cologuard). These tests are covered by insurance.
